There were reports today that ICE was in the surrounding neighborhood of our school. John S. Martinez is following all New Haven Public Schools protocols and safety measures. All students and staff are safe. We are following normal dismissal procedures. If there is a change in your child’s dismissal, please contact the main office immediately. Please consider donating lightly used uniforms and toys to our drive from May 21st to May 29th. All donated uniforms will be washed and available to be shopped on June 3rd from 3:30-4:30 during our spring concert.

The Florence Caldwell Title I Awards, that were originally planned for tonight at Hillhouse are postponed.

A message from New Haven Public Schools: Due to today’s extreme heat, we will have an early dismissal for all schools today. Schools will dismiss two hours ahead of the normally scheduled time. Transportation will be provided to students who normally ride the bus. There will be no afterschool programs. Although we realize that early dismissals pose an inconvenience, we decided it was best to act out of an abundance of caution. Thank you for your partnership in ensuring student safety. John S. Dear NHC Tutors, Parents, and Site Supervisors,

As the school year comes to a close, I’m feeling incredibly sentimental and proud. It has been an honor to work with the wonderful students across all our New Haven MathCounts sites this year! We’ve shared so many moments of laughter, curiosity, athletic enrichment, and academic growth.

Thank you for your continued support and patience. It truly takes a village, and I could not have done it without your encouragement and dedication.

Please note that the last day of the New Haven Math Counts Program for your site will be Wednesday, May 13th, or Thursday, May 14th. Final Friday Soccer games will continue to happen on the 22nd and 29th (playoffs).

As we wrap up, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all our tutors, volunteers, site coordinators, parents, and students for another successful year. Your commitment and energy made a real difference at every school site. We will send an update in June related to the Spring soccer league and overall math growth.

I hope you all have a safe and wonderful summer filled with playing and making lifelong memories. Thank you for trusting me with your children this year. Getting to know each of them and watching their growth has been one of my greatest joys.
